Barbra Snitker, Managing Director
Ms. Snitker is Managing Director at The Nussle Group where she provides strategic counsel to a variety of the firm’s clients on a wide range of issues including taxes, education, health care, transportation, appropriations and political and strategic communications. In addition, she is responsible for the firm’s day to day operations ensuring each client receives the best possible attention.

With more than a decade of experience in government and politics, Ms. Snitker has considerable knowledge in the legislative and executive branches. Most recently, Ms. Snitker served as Special Assistant to the Director of the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB). Service at the top level of OMB gave her incredible knowledge about the executive branch, how it functions and how to navigate it. At this pivotal federal agency Ms. Snitker served as a top advisor to the Director in areas of economic policy, national security policy, and strategic communications and internal operations and management.

Ms. Snitker also spent eight years on Capitol Hill where she served as the top staff person to Congressman Jim Nussle. In that capacity she managed a $1 million budget and staff of 20 people, overseeing all legislative, operational and communication activities. She understands the inside game on Capitol Hill, who to talk to and how to get things done working on important issues such as the inclusion of prescription drugs as a Medicare benefit, rural healthcare access, budget process reform, higher education and renewable energy issues.

Ms. Snitker is also an accomplished political and communications strategist having served in senior positions on several political campaigns. She has designed a one-of-a-kind, in-depth data-base used to understand voter expectations and track campaign’s progress. Ms. Snitker has her B.A. in Political Science from the University of Iowa.
